GRW Poetry Slam

The poetry slam at GRW is a collaborative project that involves the teachers, the school media coordinator, and community groups in the process of teaching poetry and motivating students to create original pieces of writing that they perform for judges and an audience in a fast-paced, competitive environment where performers use all the tricks of poetic techniques, storytelling, songwriting, theatre, and stand-up comedy to express themselves.
